The Will of John Fyske of Hallysworthe, mercer, dated 5 October 1530.

To be buried in Our Lady of Halisworth churchyard by [the side of] my son Robert. To the high altar there, for tithes forgotten, 20d. To the mother church of Norwich 12d. To a priest to sing for me for one year in Hallysworth church, "whom I do name Sir Nicholas Bennett." To Felys, my wife, the tenement I bought of John Arnolde, in fee simple. The tenement I bought of Sharffordys' wife is to be sold, and of the money, 20s. given to the gilding of the high altar. To Felys, my wife, the tenement I dwell in, in fee simple, and she is to "bere out the purches thereof." To Halesworth church a corporas, price 6s. 8d. To Alys Harman, late my servant, 10s. To my brother Robert Fyske my best gown. To the Black Friars of Dunwich 5s. To the Grey Friars of Dunwich 5s. for a trental. Residuary legatee: my wife Felys, she bestowing 40s. on my burying. Executors: my wife Felys, John Fyske of Holton, and Robert Baltoffe, and to each 16s. Supervisor: Robt. Amyllys, gent., of Braunfeld, [and to him] 6s. 8d. To Petyr Saunderson a hose cloth of my fine black karsey [i.e. a kersey]. Witnesses: Sir Robt. Hall, Alexander Fylby, Thomas Pye, Peter Saunderson, John Rychardys.
