44 - MATTHEW - Born Studhaugh, married Elizabeth Jordain, daughter of William Jordain. After her death on Jan 6, 1592 he married Margaret Hayward the following year. She died on Sept 13, 1611 and he married for a third time on Jan 30, 1611 to Anne Huggune. He was a yeoman and resided in Laxfield but died in Ubbeston, Suffolk. Will dated June 11, 1627 mentions his wife Anne, son Nicholas, son John and his son John, and his daughter Elizabeth the wife of Edmond Stannard. A "Mathias Fiske of Stow, yeoman" was buried at Laxfield in 1628. [Stow = Studhaw?] Back. Offspring of 44 81 - NICHOLAS -
Baptised at Framlingham on July 31, 1575, married firstly
Judith Reade, daughter of William Reade of Colchester,
Essex, parson of Trinity Church and of St. Martin's Lane,
and secondly to Marge ? He received an excellent
education, studied medicine and astrology and practised
until his death. In 1633, while a professor of physics,
he was granted the right to use the Fiske coat of arms by
the Heralds' College. He was a contemporary and friend of
Samuel Butler, author of Hudibras. He died aged 78. The British Library Manuscript Collection contains
his Commonplace book of practice and accounts c.1660

Resided in Laxfield. 84 - JOHN - Born Laxfield, married Elizabeth Button there on May 5, 1600. Described as a weaver on his children's baptism records. Will dated Dec 24, 1639. He died in 1640; resided Laxfield and Mendham. Offspring of 81 130 - JOHN - Born Studhaugh, eldest son and heir to Nicholas, he married Mary Cave in 1600. 131 - MARY - Married John Stanard. 132, 132a - ELIZABETH & CATHERINE - No information. 133 - MATHEW - Married Ann Linyard in 1611, died without issue. 133a - ANN - Born 1579, married ? Borrett in 1600 133b - REBECCA - Born 1584. Offspring of 84 134 - JOHN - Baptised Jan 8, 1603 at Laxfield. He is mentioned in a land charter dated 1624 which makes mention of lands left to him by Erasmus Cooke. Will dated Feb 22, 1628. He died on Nov 7, 1628; a "John Fiske of Ludham, yeoman" was recorded as being buried at Laxfield that year. 135 - WILLIAM FFISKE - Baptised Laxfield Feb 23, 1605, married ??? 136 - ELIZABETH - Baptised Laxfield Feb 26, 1608, married Rev. Erasmus Cook, died before 1628 leaving a son Samuel. 137 - MATHEW (MATHIAS) FFISKE - Baptised at Laxfield on March 12, 1614, married Anne ? 138 - ANN - Baptized at Laxfield in 1601 (eldest child). Offspring of 130 189 - JOHN - Baptised at Laxfield in 1602, married Margaret ? Resided at Studhaugh. 190, 191 - WILLIAM & JUDITH - No information. Offspring of 137 192 - ELIZABETH - Baptized at Laxfield in 1645, possibly the Elizabeth Fiske who married George Stimpson there in 1672. 193 - DEBORAH - Baptized at Laxfield in 1649, possibly the Deborah ffiske who married Abraham Burgess at Brundish on Oct 9, 1677, both of the parish of Stradbroke. 194 - MARY (MARIE) - Baptized at Laxfield in 1651, possibly the Marie ffiske who married James Green at Brundish on April 29, 1679. Both were single and from Laxfield. 195 - ANN - Baptized at Laxfield in 1654.
